Sound Level Measurement generally involves measuring the sound pressure levels emitted by the product or equipment as either an A-weighted overall sound pressure level or in proportional octave bands. It generally requires a microphone, a data acquisition device and software. Basic sound level measurement is the simplest of the acoustic measurements once can make and can generally be done at with a single microphone at a specified position.
