Wireless Field Noise Reduction Measurement System
VIacoustics Wireless Field Noise Reduction System systems conducts building acoustics measurements without the need to run cables between the Source and Receive rooms. It uses NI wireless data acquisition hardware in combination with our Swept Sine Analyzer software to measure Noise Reduction, Transmission Loss, and Reverb Times.
This system is particularly useful in situations where it would be difficult to run cables from one room to another, such as apartment units on different floors.
Swept Sine Reverb Analyzer works alongside VIacoustics Trident analyzer. Trident is used for configuration and sound measurement, while SSA is used to generate sweeps and process the results. The two applications communicate with each other seamlessly such that that all operations are automated once the test starts. National Instruments data acquisition hardware is used to generate and measure the signals.
Components
VIacoustics will work with you to build and integrate a custom system that meets your needs for field NR and Reverb Time measurements. A fully wireless system can be configured using a pair of wireless data acquisition chassis (one for each room) and a wireless speaker. Alternatively, a hybrid wireless/wired setup can be configured using a wired connection mic and speaker in the source room and a wireless input setup in the receive room.
A typical field set up might include the following:

- Mic Stands with Brackets for cDAQ Chassis, Ethernet Adapter, and Power Supply (x2)
- Wireless (Bluetooth or Wi-Fi compatible) battery powered active loadspeaker
